"I discovered journaling as a teenager longing for answers in what felt like a crazy world. It was in my late twenties that some of my entries started to take on a poetic voice or rhythm. Since the mid 80's I have had photos, (mostly of dance), and poetry published in various media."

Ashes

Lightly floating down from above
a resting speck is smeared across my face
like the tail of the shooting star.
Upon my lip a light nothingness that
feels gritty as it pulls moisture from my tongue.

Ashes of who was, floating into what will be.

The messenger who is himself nourishment
for the as yet unknown.
