Before Dawn |
outside your window
sailboats rock and nod,
off to sleep within
the arms of the sea
a breeze tonight
soft as bellows fills
your chest which deflates, slumps
against the edge of your desk,
your head, an anchor buried
in a heavy bed of sand
till early morning, you wake
as the day drifts in

Even if There Isn't Any Rain |
moisture hangs from the tips
of leaves,
when it is cold
a blanket is huddled
at the foot
of the bed
at a place where it
cannot be held
accountable against myself
to the long
sounds of silence
bursting all voids,
a droplet falls
