Loony Love Poem |
My fiancé has broken more things
of mine in a year and a half
than I have in my lifetime:
glasses, plates, a small one-of-a-kind
cactus planter.
She leaves the toilet lid up . . .
all the time, and
doesn’t refill the toilet paper.
She makes a mess
doing just about everything:
eating, cooking, pastels.
She has a Paris Hilton song in her iPod.
These aren’t a list of complaints,
just an account of realities.
But if they were, I’m sure
she would have one great comeback . . .
she has to put up with me:
sarcastic, stubborn
and sometimes, as she says,
“so tiring to listen to.”
But what it comes down to is,
we are both crazies
who happen to have found
the right nut
to share the nuthouse with.
And I wouldn’t ask for anything more.
