An ache feels almost like a laugh,
a laugh much like a cry.
Cogs mesh in either direction.
Stardust in light merged
to make us all. Or was it shards
of dark matter striking each other,
sparking the light?
Pain and pleasure measure the same.
The length of a sigh gives voice to either.
Hurting together hurts less than apart.
Laughing together is more joy than alone.
Both grind down in the metal shavings of time,
mixed in the floor dust. Before the Big
Bang, God and Lucifer stirred together.
Whether Evolution creates or Creation evolves,
everything keeps time in the well‑oiled clock
of God and Devil, Creature and Machine.
The gears turn in the one
mind of them all.
