We get into the rescue world
to give animals a better longer life
sooner or later and ur lucky if it's later
but we come to understand that
all can't be saved
It's hard never easy
human animal eye contact
can't be avoided
Spend one day with my boxer dogs
one afternoon in a livestock auction
with a slaughterhouse next door
you will be changed
I hope
Life is funny because most people eat meat
but few really know the sacrifice
lots of people go out and find a pet
but few know the responsibility or how
many unwanted dogs and cats are
put to sleep everyday
When you see it up close because
it can't be seen from far away
It kills ya knowing that all can't be saved
Yeah
Maybe I do suffer from PTSD animal style
but I feel lucky because when you can look an animal
in the eyes and the animal looks back
then you know that all life matters including
the lives of those who can't speak
