Yesterday, a cupcake of a park sparkles
with a delicious little lake.
Westlake park welcomes
hungry ducks and lovers.
We rent small boats
equipped with radios and romance,
putter around the lake in starlight,
kiss to deep purple songs about
skylarks and nightingales.
That was before the lake's name
was changed to honor a war general.
Someone left their cake in the middle
Guys in red bandannas shoot at blue
splattering strawberry icing all over today.
