I Dream of Bicycles |
I dream of bicycles, of riding bicycles a hundred feet high. I'm never conscious of the absurdity, I'm just riding, pedaling from a great height, looking down on the intersections I'm passing through, the cars I fearfully somehow manage to avoid. I strain and wobble, knowing a crash or fall could happen any time. I negotiate a turn, a traffic jam, I avoid a pile-up. I hop onto an overpass, wrenching the towering machine up to the eight lanes of perpendicular concrete, then letting it drop back down while somehow staying upright, aloft, somehow continuing on my journey to I don't know where, I never know where.
