A landmark is reached
Not of accomplishment but recession
A tag, a ticket
Branded and channeled off
One way path
Mortality lane
A generation separates
Two has come and gone
But the one before is so close
Closer they get further down the lane
Tickets and scars punctuating the path
Affirming the journey
Assuring the passengers
Reminding those who wait for the next train
