on an execution

seven or so soldiers
their sashes on
their left hips
their guns
raised
in the air
smoke storming from
their barrels

maximilian
his hands held high
in the air
eyes and mouth
as open as
the wounds
hidden
by clouds
tempests
of manunkind

one soldier watching
head turned
down
at a ground drinking
from veins wrought
open
and just
as guilty as
the others in
his inaction

lorca
you were
slaughtered this
same way
your blood
falling
onto the earth be
neath
your feet like
too much
rain
